Realizing ideas together

Professor Norbert Hübner, Head of the Research Group on Genetics and Genomics of Cardiovascular Diseases

I belong to the generation that entered the higher education system after the fall of the Berlin Wall – as did those my age living in the East.
Here, young scientists and doctors with Western and Eastern backgrounds came together to realize their ideas.

Suddenly, individuals who were socialized in very different societies were thrown together. But at that age, we were still mainly driven by curiosity, interest, and impartiality.

This was particularly the case at the MDC in Berlin-Buch. Here, young scientists and doctors with Western and Eastern backgrounds came together to realize their ideas. I believe such environments made a very great and strong contribution to the joint creation of a unified Germany!
